About Us

Goodnews Skateshop was established in 2017 to service and support the Victoria, BC skate community. The shop is owned and operated by Matt Jensen and Scott Bain. Matt and Scott both grew up working at their local skateshops and are committed to running a skateboard only shop that is a true reflection of skateboard culture. The shop’s responsibility is to support and grow the Victoria skate scene. The shop also acts as a central hub for skaters to meetup, event space, and a vehicle to showcase local skaters.

As a brand, Goodnews is a creative project. We come up with ideas and work with skaters in the community who are also amazing artists and designers to create shit we love that highlights their work. The goal is to expand our impact in the skate community and create things we wanna see and use at the same time.

Goodnews Skateshop is located in downtown Victoria, BC at 609 Johnson Street. We are skater owned and operated and exist to support, grow, and give back to our local skateboard community.

As a brand, Goodnews is a vehicle for local artists to showcase their work. All our graphics, posters, designs, etc. have been created by skaters and we do our best to source and produce all our goods locally.
